New York Mets’ starting pitcher Johan Santana ready for Spring Training Camps- MLB News
The New York Mets’ talented starting pitcher Johan Santana, who was almost out an entire season from baseball field due to his shoulder injury’s late after affects, is now feeling much better as he is preparing hard to start well in the upcoming Major League
Baseball Spring Training Camps.
Santana said, "I'm very excited about this, I finally have an opportunity to start spring training from the beginning and do all the drills and be part of the team. I went through a rest time and now I'm building up everything again and feeling good. That's
the most important thing."
He added, “That's what I'm here for -- to recover from one start to another. That's what we're going to figure out, and see how we're going to work and take care of it. I am going to do everything the way they want me to do, and we’ll see how it feels.”
According to Santana’s above mentioned statement, one can easily extract that he is enormously excited about the next big event. During the whole MLB 2011 campaign, the speculations were remained in the media that Santana is ready and coming anytime to play.
But not only he did not play but later, this was also in the media as some of his close friends or Mets’ executives asked Santana and his agent that he must not come to play instead rest the season and start a new beginning in 2012.
Now, Santana, the Mets’ management, his agent, all are pretty confident that this is the right time for him to come again on a bigger picture. Even Santana is working hard back home in New York and only waiting for the Spring Training to start soon.
Many inside the Mets’ management are also happy that their one of best starting pitchers is getting in shape to perform well in the next season. Santana’s recovery is also important as the Mets’ need him badly to overcome last year’s humiliating defeats
which caused them bitterly. Mets’ could not perform well in 2011 and lost many games due to their dire pitching rotation.
