New York Rangers confident about forcing Game 7 against New Jersey Devils -NHL Playoffs Update
New York Rangers are headed to another Game 6 on the verge of elimination, but what makes this one different is that it is against New Jersey Devils in the crucial 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Playoff Finals.
The stakes are just too high for New York Rangers to give up now and they certainly realise that fact. They realise it to the extent of saying that there is no possible way that New Jersey will be able to oust them come Game 6.
New York can certainly say that. With the experience of rebounding that they have gained so far in this year’s playoffs, Rangers know how to make a comeback and take a team down.
Fans witnessed it against Ottawa Senators in the quarterfinals and Washington Capitals in the semi-finals as New York bounced back to force a Game 7 decider and took the series.
New York has yet to win consecutive games in the series against New Jersey and it finally looks like that time has now arrived.
Rangers lost Game 4 by a miserable 4-1 difference but they showed a much better performance in the following contest, but still lost 5-3.
It seems like New York needs to get their engine warmed up before any significant difference in terms of winning is shown and it seems like Game 6 just might be the night.
"I thought we probably played our best game of the series tonight," Rangers coach, John Tortorella, said.
"We know we can do those things. That's what we've done all year," Rangers centre, Brian Boyle, added. "We have confidence as a group. We don't need to say, 'Oh, we did some good things,' a moral victory to give ourselves confidence. We know we can do some
things with the puck. We can forecheck and create offense that way. As the game wore on we did a better job of that."
Game 6 will definitely be an exciting matchup as Los Angeles Kings eagerly wait to see who they will be facing in the Stanley Cup Finals. The matchup kicks off on Friday, May 25, 2012.
