New York Rangers’ forward Rick Nash injured while playing a game for HC Davos in Switzerland
Rick Nash, a professional Canadian ice hockey player, who had made headlines few months ago when he was transferred from Columbus Blue Jackets to New York Rangers, has now made headlines again as he has injured himself while playing a game in Switzerland.
One of the top National Hockey League (NHL) players for last 6-7 years, Nash was captain of Columbus Blue Jackets but he was traded by the team because of their continuous poor finishes in the league. Blue Jackets finished 13th, 15th
and 14th in 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 season respectively.
His injury would be a worry for New York Rangers who traded Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon and a 2013 first round draft pick for the player, so now they would have their fingers crossed that his injury is not much serious and he returns soon.
They would be feeling much better and relaxed after, the Brampton, Ontario born player’s agent revealed in a statement that injury is not much serious and taking out him from the game was just a precautionary measure. He would be examined closely before
making a decision on him or saying anything further about him, as he said,
"Rick was taken out of the game for precautionary measures and will be re-evaluated over the next couple of days”.
According to reports by TSN, the 6-foot-4, 218 pounder was playing a game for HC Davos and after nine minutes into the match, the player was hit in the glass and suffered the injury and he was taken off after the incident.
This is not the first time Nash is playing for Davos as he has also turned towards the Switzerland hockey league side 7 years back when there an NHL lockout in 2004-2005 season.
Just like the previous time, he is once again accompanied by Joe Thornton of San Jose Sharks there, who is a fellow forward and plays as a centre.
Switzerland’s fan of hockey must be eager to watch Nash in action soon as he is a much better player than he was here before. His 289 goals, 258 assists, 547 points in 674 games are enough to make anyone excited about him.
