Ok from what I understand in the state of New York you can take a class at age 16 to become a first responder that costs $500. Once you are a first responder do you get payed? How much do you get payed? Any other useful information would be appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Well, just getting licensed as a first responder is not going to get you paid.

The only way you'll get paid is by getting a job in the field.

Not sure how your state works, but if you can, go straight to EMT-B.

It's another 2 or 3 months of class and another 400 bucks- but it's worth it.
