New York Yankees' GM Brian Cashman shows optimism on current roster – MLB Update
According to some inside sources, New York Yankees are currently in deep trouble to decide over some of the internal matters regarding veteran players and their lengthy contracts as well as the new strategy for the next Major League Baseball season.
It has been also observed by some media sources that Yankees are not at all happy after Detroit Tigers hammered them with 4-0 clean sweep humiliation in American League Championship Series.
That particular defeat is certainly huge for the Yankees who considered one of the best Major League teams in Major League Baseball.
As soon as the Yankees were ousted from ALCS, the team's top management started to think for the next season. After slightly evaluating the whole 2012 season, the Yankees are now ready to take some big decisions before 2013 Spring Training.
Though these decisions are yet to be revealed in the media however, some sources do claim that the Yankees' general manager Brain Cashman is not ready make any changes in the roster but the decisions which Yankees might take in few weeks to come, will somewhat affect their current roster.
“Do we need to get younger? Only if it gets us better. Do I want us to be younger and better? Yes, but will I sacrifice, would I go younger to make us worse and forego better choices that are older that make us better? No, In theory, I want us to get younger and better, but in reality, that’s not always realistic; it depends on what is immediately coming through your system and if you feel that the players currently knocking on the door are potential everyday guys,” Cashman said in detail.
The 2012 Major League regular season went well for the Yankees but somehow they could show any outstanding performance in the post-season and defeated by the Detroit Tigers.
They went into post-season as leaders of American League East when they finished with .586 winning percentage along with 95-67 win-loss record but the way they played in the post-season was certainly brought disgrace to their franchise.
