New York Yankees' Mark Teixeira looking forward to face Bobby Valentine with Boston -MLB Update
It is well known that the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox rivalries go back a long time and certainly have one of the most colourful histories in the entire Major League Baseball (MLB).
Being equally as excited as any fan would be, New York Yankees’ first baseman, Mark Teixeira, is highly thrilled at the idea of his team playing against the Boston Red Sox now that they have Bobby Valentine as their new manager for the upcoming 2012 MLB
regular season.
Named as the new manager for the Boston Red Sox on December 1, 2011, the 61-year-old MLB legend will certainly create a stir around the league with his vast knowledge of the sport and known intelligence due to his ability of being able to play various positions
like shortstop, second and third base along with all three out fielding positions and of course, batting.
“I think it’s great. This rivalry is great for baseball; I’ve said it a million times. It’s great for both cities, but baseball as a whole, it seems like everyone stops just to watch those 18 games. Bobby Valentine is a great manager and he’s a funny guy.
He’s got a great personality. I think the interviews either before or after games are going to be a little more interesting and that’ll be good for both teams," Teixeira said.
While joking at the occasion, Teixeira added that he is not sure whether Valentine would continue letting him practice at his baseball facility in Stamford anymore due to his affiliate with the New York Yankees, but knew that they would still remain good
friends no matter what the situation would be.
He also added that now their conversations might not just be related to simple baseball discussions but could quite possibly be advanced into more direct and in-depth talks which could potentially heat things up here and there.
As teams are making changes for the upcoming MLB season, Mark Teixeira is also is progressing in regards to his workout routine which involves only running and working out until the New Year start.
