New York Yankees' left fielder Brett Gardner is expected to return this weekend after doctors cleared him on his rehab completion due to right elbow surgery.
“I’m ready for that, It’s just a matter of if they feel comfortable, I’m excited to get back, even though there’s only a little bit of time. Hopefully, I can get in a game or two and help out,” Gardner said with confidence as he told the media about his comeback and also explained how he is preparing for his potential return.
He explained about his tough period as he had to undergo a procedure, “The last eight weeks since the surgery haven’t been as frustrating as the first two or three months before the surgery, It’s definitely a relief to know the surgery was what I needed, I look forward to being able to swing a bat again, whether it be in a week and a half, two and a half weeks or next February.”
With this news, all the speculations of his season ending surgery also vanished as he will play in the remaining 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Yankees' management has also confirmed that Gardner will return in the postseason roster which certainly is a motivating factor for their side.
He was sidelined at the start of the season as he only reached .321 hitting average along with three RBIs and .424 OBP. While his career hitting average of .265 along with 15 homers, 125 RBIs and .355 OBP also makes him a good role player in the Yankees' roster.
Meanwhile, Gardner who will be playing his fifth season next summer certainly possesses some extraordinary skills which will lift up his game with more focus.
Yankees on the other hand, also know that how important Gardner’s game is for their team.
