New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez confident of 2012 brilliance – MLB News
Alex Rodriguez had the worst season of his career merely because of the non-supportive condition of his body, which he considers still has much to present in 2012.
Rodriguez, playing as third baseman for the New York Yankees, since his debut in 1994 has not gone through such a bad condition. He played only ninety-nine games this past season and scored just 62 RBIs and 16 home-runs with a .276 batting average. It was
something that baseball experts had not predicted from the 14 time All-Star selectee. A-Rod is popular among baseball fans for his devastating hits and unmatched home-runs, but this season he could not even play 100 games due to consistent injuries.
Alex is the only player in Major League Baseball history to touch more than 35 home runs and 100 RBIs in 10 consecutive seasons. This season has given a hint of his increasing age, stated an expert. In July of 2012, Rodriguez will become 37-years-old and
it has started a debate in baseball circles if A-Rod will be able to bring his previous impetus back.
Rodriguez replied with an intensive desire and hoped that he will be able to comeback in 2012 and perform like A-Rod from the past.

“The Yankees made two big moves this offseason,” Rodriguez told major newspaper in New York. “Keeping CC, and I expect to be who I have been in the past.”
In Spring Training, Rodriguez was brilliant with the bat, as he touched home-runs in six consecutive outings. He showed explosiveness, but could not carry it in the regular season. Despite that, the Yankees entered into the American League Division Series,
in which they lost to the Detroit Tigers 3-2 in the last outing of the five-game match-up.
Whatever Rodriguez says about his future, but history has something different to show. Unfolding the pages of history, a constant pattern unveils that any player in his late 30s could not make his way back into the sport. For that reason, if Rodriguez wanted
to exhibit the original, 30 home-runs and 100 RBIs, he will have to put an extra effort outside the park in the practice session. Yankees do not want to lose their 30 plus homers and 100 RBIs, just because Rodriguez still has to stay in Yankees for next six
years for $143 million.
