New York Yankees Derek Jeter cleared after checkup with doctors – MLB Update
The New York Yankees superstar shortstop Derek Jeter has been given a green signal by his team doctors and team management is now planning a potential return in his first Spring Training game.
"As soon as I’m able to play, I’ll play, It’s always reassuring when someone says that’s something that’s broken is not broken anymore, Now it’s just getting through the normal aches." Jeter said and explained in the media.
He added with more detail, “Same thing as the last couple weeks, Just getting ready. Nothing has changed from what I told you guys before. But now the bone is healed. They say it’s healed. So I’m not worried." don’t think I have to run them full speed before
I play, If you look back to spring trainings in the past, I don’t think anybody’s running the bases full speed before the first game.”
Jeter is talented player as he was injured in the last Major League outing in the post season. He needed a surgery on his injured ankle while now he is planning a potential return.
Last season despite injury, Jeter was still able to achieve consistent numbers of .316 hitting average along with 15 home runs, 58 RBIs and .362 OBP. Overall he is also carrying a good career hitting average of 255 home runs, 1254 RBIs and .382 OBP.
Earlier when news came out in the media about Jeter’s injury, many Yankees fans and even the management was quite petrified that they will not be able see their star player playing in the next season, but now with his full recovery, the Yankees are roaring
to show their offensive class in the fresh MLB outing.
Meanwhile, it is also a very good thing that Jeter is coming back in the roster as two of Yankees main players Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez already injured at the moment.
Mark Teixeira and Rodriguez showed good class in the last outing and achieved consistent numbers. Teixeira showed good commitment on the plate and achieved consistent .251 hitting average along with 24 home runs, 84 RBIs and .332 OBP.
