New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter tired of talking about adjustments – MLB Update
Derek Jeter, Captain of the New York Yankees, was recently active in the roster that took out the Boston Red Sox, 9-4, at Fenway Park. The short-stop is well on his way to availing a 3,000 hits figure this year and that has been one of the primary reasons
why his slow start to the season is attracting negative attention.
With a batting average of .270 in 2010, many are now questioning his quality at the moment.
The All-Star pinstripes captain is currently .233 and that has harnessed a lot of doubt from the press that wants to put him on the forefront agenda page. Nevertheless, with two hits coming from the last two games, things seem to be progressing well for
the player. He is looking to lead his game on and manager Joe Girardi confirmed that recently.
The reporters have been tailing him and with a 2-for-9 figure, leading into the third game of the series at Fenway Park, there is hype in the air.
"You guys keep asking me, but I'm striding the same, how about that?" Jeter said. "I don't know what to tell you about it. I'm not doing anything different, really. I've talked about it enough. I'm not thinking about it. I'm just trying to go out there and
do it."
Jeter has been making his season count as he is currently on four runs and seven hits. With the backing of his troops he is looking at going back into the attack.
The short-stop maintained that he has felt pretty good in the last few days. He expressed his desire to continue on, carrying that sensation. He further assured the press that he is happy with his At-Bats.
The press tends to pay a lot of attention to the April games and standings. That fact is not surprising as games start at this time.
"I think you guys pay too much attention to what goes on the first week of the season," Jeter said. "If it was the middle of August, nobody would notice. Right now, there's a focus because there's just no foundation yet to build on."
Whatever the case may be, Jeter is close to a 3,000 hits figure and with fame comes a lot of negative publicity.
