New York Yankees ace slugger Alex Rodriguez undergoes shoulder treatment also - MLB News
The New York Yankees ace slugger, Alex Rodriguez, who has received an Orthokine therapy for his knee in Germany, was also treated for his shoulder earlier this month. This was revealed by the Yankees general manager Brian Cashman on late Wednesday, as he
described little details about Rodriguez’s left shoulder that was also treated in Germany.
He said with confidence that Alex’s knee and shoulder are now getting better and he will participate in the upcoming training sessions. Cashman said, “There appeared to be no downside. Maybe this is an avenue that helps maintain his health. There's clearly
a belief system that this type of treatment is beneficial. And if it is, it was time well spent. And if it isn't, nothing ventured, nothing gained.”
Cashman added, “He had recovered we felt fully from his surgery. I think this is more about maintaining health going forward. He was working out during the process and he continues to work out now. Alex isn't coming into spring training with a red flag for
me in any capacity.”
Alex Rodriguez, who played the whole 2011 Major League Baseball season with several knee problems, decided to receive Orthokine treatment for his right knee to avoid further medical hitches in his playing career. This state of the art expensive Orthokine
procedure has also been performed on the National Basketball Association and Los Angeles Lakers superstar, Kobe Bryant.
Alex Rodriguez is one of the highest paid players in MLB but due to last season’s knee issues, he was extremely frustrated and he left for Germany to fix these late knee problems. Though his contract with the Yankees is secure, but he still felt that he
could not perform well in 2011 and in order to perform consistently next season, he is recovering steadily to regain his determined game style.
Last season, Rodriguez went with .276 on hitting average along with 16 home-runs, 62 RBIs and .362 OBP, while his career hitting average is .302 with 629 homers, 1893 RBIs and .386 OBP. His stats portray a very optimistic picture, stamping the fact that
he certainly possesses great abilities to make a successful comeback next season.
