New York Yankees’ management uncertain on Andy Pettitte’s potential return – MLB Update
The New York Yankees are still uncertain on their starting pitcher Andy Pettitte’s potential return. No one in the Yankees’ management is ready to talk to the media and explaining regarding Pettitte as he currently injured with fractured left fibula.
Earlier news came in the media that his rehab has almost completed and the Yankees’ management is looking quite pleased on their talented starter’s comeback, but later many were surprised to hear that Pettitte suffered a setback in his rehab and now his
return potentially will take likely further 10 days.
“We have to let the healing process take its course, He had that setback which cost him a week to 10 days, but he is in the middle of the healing process,’’ Yankees manager Brian Cashman said regarding his player whom he surely wants to see on the field
as soon as possible.
Recently Pettitte has also said in the media and somewhat explained about his physician and overall his rehab process, “Obviously, it’s healing up but it hasn’t healed up as much as [Dr. Chris Ahmad] thought, In Seattle it swelled up, I did a little too
much in Seattle. Now I am laying low. I have to take it easy.”
This news of Pettitte suffering a setback in his rehab process certainly put the Yankees on slight back foot.  They are currently having some serious problems regarding their players’ fitness. Already Alex Rodriguez, whose hand has been injured, is giving
huge trouble to Yankees’ expectations to finish top in their division.
While now they receive another delay in their starter’s potential return which could give them additional stress. Pettitte with a 16-year Major League experience certainly is one of the best starting pitchers in the professional league. His huge experience
and extraordinary pitching skills have given the Yankees many victories.
Before he was injured, he was playing with an ERA of 3.22, 3-3 win loss, 59 strikeouts and 1.09 WHIP while his overall 3.87 ERA, along with 243-141 win loss, 2310 strikeouts and 1.35 WHIP also makes him one of the best starting pitchers in the Major League.
