New York Yankees’ pitcher Andy Pettitte seems optimistic to return to team roster – MLB News
New York Yankees' 16-year veteran Andy Pettitte knows how critical his potential return is. He has been out from the Yankees' roster since early July due to a fractured lower left leg.
However, recently he played well against the Toronto Blue Jays and is now fit to maintain his permanent role in the Yankees' roster.
“I feel good, I’m looking forward to it, obviously. I don’t know what to say other than I’m looking forward to going out there and pitching.” Pettitte said and tried to explain some aspects of his personal condition and also highlighted his future plans to show the Yankees' management his true class.                                
Pettitte commented with more confidence and added, “I could probably say when I came back, I thought there was no chance, But with getting hurt and only having 60 innings right now and hoping to have a couple hundred innings under your belt, it definitely gives me the option to consider coming back again next year, that’s for sure.”
This will also help the New York Yankees who understand Andy Pettitte’s importance in the upcoming post-season.
Pettitte, a 40-year-old professional baseball player, is also facing some inflexible public and media opinion regarding his future with the Yankees and most importantly in the Major League.
Though he has been playing well and also did well early in the season but his future chances in the League is waning-out due to his age.
Before getting injured, Pettitte was playing with 3.22 ERA along with 3-3 win-loss, 59 strike-outs and 1.09 WHIP.
On the other hand, his career stats which are also consistent with 3.87 ERA along with 243-141 win-loss, 2310 strike-outs and 1.35 WHIP also makes him one of the most well established players in Major League Baseball.
Some experts also believe that Pettitte certainly cannot represent the Yankees’ in future seasons but at the same time they also showing great support for him to play in this ongoing season.
Pettitte, who has achieved every major award in MLB, also wants to end his career on a high note if he gets back on time.
