New York Yankees raise ticket price by five dollars – MLB News
Although the New York Yankees could not get into the World Series and their success was attributed only to the young players instead of their veterans, the club still believe the fans will not mind buying tickets that have been increased by five dollars
each, as reported by the major news sources.
Just a day before this announcement, a press release from the media office of the organisation stated that the Yankees will not increase the price of more than seventy percent tickets instead they might introduce reduced prices. However, the organisation
has ignored their press release and now has decided to charge five extra dollars on each non-obstructed bleacher ticket.
At 350 feet away from home plate, an 18 inch steel bench was costing $15, which now has been revised to $20. The decision has started a new debate in the fans that will now have to think twice before driving to Yankee Stadium. However, this high price will
provide the fans a chance to have a close view of Nick Swisher, or may be a chance to get an autograph.
According to the announcement, the Yankees might not increase the already highest-priced seats, but it will force them to introduce a 33 percent increase in the reserved seats, the ones mostly bought by the economical fans.
Until now, the Yankees has not announced any news about the raise in the parking, which already cost 35 dollars in the regular season and 45 dollars for the three playoff games. The complete game then will cost a minimum 55 dollars a person, who drive through
the stadium. Any increase in the parking lot fees, may turn into 65 to 70 dollars in regular season and 70 to 85 dollars in playoffs. An estimated turn over with this increase is extremely high for the organisation.
The club has not made any special change in their organisation at any level. Curtis Granderson and Carsten Charles Sabathia were re-signed and Yankees are now looking to hire an average-numbered starting pitcher. C. J. Wilson and Roy Oswalt were high-priced
and their chances to be in New York were already scarce, but both pitchers now have decided to stay with their clubs.
