New York Yankees’ shortstop Derek Jeter prepares ahead of next season – MLB News
The New York Yankees’ talented shortstop and skipper Derek Jeter is training hard for the next Major League Baseball season. Few sports journalists, who always remain interested, getting Derek Jeter on board on any relevant situation, caught a brief video footage in which Jeter was training excessively hard in order to put up a good show next season.
Even after a hectic training session, Jeter spoke to reporters and told them what he is expecting from next season for his own game and for the Yankees as a team will play in 2012. He talked while referring to all new Yankees' players who have just joined the team.
Jeter said, “You see all these kids out here now, When I first came down here, it was just me. They didn’t do this when I started. I came on my own and I dragged my roommate down with me, R.D. Long. The only people down here were rehabbers. Then they started bringing people down and now they have this.”
Later, Jeter also spoke about some of his junior team-mates as how they are looking forward to overcome bigger disappointment of losing bitterly last season. He spoke especially about young shortstop Cito Culver as, “He’s very interested in learning, which is always good, when I was a young player coming up. I wanted to learn as much as I could. He asks a lot of questions, works hard. He’s got a bright future.”
Overall Jeter looked quite confident while talking about his team’s preparations and how they are looking forward to develop a new winning confidence rather than just an offensive strategy this offseason. The reason Jeter was putting so much emphasis on an offensive game plan next season during his media talk because last season the Yankees defensive game plan literally ruined their playoff chances.
Jeter was also quite sure as this is the only way their team will be surviving in 2012 where every other Major League team is also planning to come with a big heart and most importantly with an offensive winning game plan.
