New York Yankees star slugger Alex Rodriguez prepares ahead of 2012 MLB season
The New York Yankees star slugger and ace third-baseman Alex Rodriguez is preparing hard for the next Major League Baseball season.
Recently he spoke to a renowned sports TV channel and described his daily routine on the training field. He not only mentioned his ambition for the next season but he also explained as how he will try to persuade something better for the Yankees next season. Last season the Yankees did not do well and lost early in the postseason. They looked out of sorts and gave several loop holes to opposing teams.
To avoid that kind of performance, Rodriguez also stated regarding his new strategy to encounter fast throwers and hoped his team will find ways to win the next World Series title. Rodriguez said, “I think the vision for us as a team is now, you want the DH spot to be one that's kind of a revolving door. I think a lot of us at some point or another, in such a long season, are going occupy that spot. But for me, I'm really excited about playing third base.”
He added, “We think about what's the goal and we'll have that conversation at spring training, but I'm conditioning myself right now. To help the team win a championship and play a good third base, for us, we get exactly what we need.”
Rodriguez, who played almost 99 games during 2011 regular season due to his knee surgery, is feeling quite perfect now after undergoing a procedure in Germany in December that has also made him tougher for this rigorous game.
Alex, who is considered one of the highest paid professional baseball players in the MLB, certainly possesses some huge talent. His presence always makes a big stir especially for the opponents’ roster.
Rodriguez, who despite injury hit a consistent .276 with 16 home-runs, 62 RBIs and .362 OBP last season, certainly shows his great commitment with the game. His past performances with the Yankees are also very good, weighing at .302 with 629, 1893 RBIs and .386 OBP.
