New York Yankees tie with Atlanta Braves 5-5 – MLB Spring Training

New York Yankees tie with Atlanta Braves 5-5 at the Champion Stadium in Kissimmee, Florida on Wednesday, March 28 in their Grapefruit League encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training Session.
The Braves will be dejected by the fact they were unable to cross the final hurdle at their home. Brandon Beachy, who started 25 games in his rookie year, had a decent outing.
After giving up a run in the first inning and two more in the second inning, Beachy showed the comfort level he started to feel as he retried nine straight over the next three innings.
"I've been going through all spring like it was a long bullpen session, then everything started to come together. I got ahead and I am ready to go now. I learned a lot today," he said.
"I want him throwing about 100 pitches, but they have to go farther than six innings," Fredi Gonzalez said. "He gets his pitch count up, but we are going to prod him. The most important thing is to get him past the `shot-down innings' where we start to think
about making a change."
Yankees’ number two starter Kuroda allowed two runs including a home run over seven innings pitched. Striking out six in his outing, Kuroda has certainly cemented his place on the pitching rotation.
The Yankees are improving their game play with each passing spring game and they have now improved their spring win-loss record to 13-10.
After making a very wobbly start to the 2012 Spring Training campaign, it seems the Yankees have finally found their best hitting and pitching combinations. Although the Yankees tied the game on Wednesday, they put a rock-solid fight in almost every aspect
of the game.
Joe Girardi and his men have a lot to prove in the upcoming season. The Yankees spent a lot of money on its’ players during the offseason and the owner Mike Ilitch will be hoping to reach the World Series finals without too many problems.
With the Likes of C.C. Sabathia, Hiroki Kuroda and Michael Pineda, Yankees’ pitching rotation looks stronger than ever before. It will be interesting to see if the Yankees can handle the pressure of playoffs later this year.
