New York homeschoolers please help!?

I've been studying at home for two years. (9th & 10th grade) I'm thinking of going back to public school this september, but I'm concerned about the Regents exams. I was new to New York's education system when I first started being homeschooled so I didn't really know much about Regents so I didn't take any of them. I know that everyone takes at least a few Regents a year.. but which ones are mandatory for getting into college? (or public high school maybe?)

In new york you have math A and Math B for the first few years of high school? and I know that last year my math skills were about equivalent to the level of Math A(although I didn't take the exam), but what about B? In my online high school, I'm currently taking geometry for the tenth grade math. Will I be able to take Math B when I finish studying geometry?

Thanks for helping!

  1. Starting with the entering freshman for the 2007-08 school year, the NY state Regents math courses changed. Students that were already on the Math A/ Math B tract continued...but  the new Regents math courses probably now more closely resemble what you are doing. My daughter is currently completing Integrated Algebra (9th) and will take the Algebra Regents exam tomorrow. 10th graders will take the Geometry Regents next year. Go to: http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/3-8/m-home.htm   for more information. You can find 9th-11th grade Regents math info (look at the 5th-7th bullets). Hope this is helpful!

  2. Contact some schools you would be interested in attending and see what their policies are.

Sorry I can't be more help than that.
