New Zealand Cricket Coach John Wright supports http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129 as part of leadership group
The New Zealand coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Geoffrey-Wright-c67883, is hopeful the wicketkeeper batsman, Brendon McCullum, would remain an important part of Kiwis’ leadership group despite the disappointment of being overlooked for the captaincy role.
"I hope that Brendon, by the time this all settles down, is an important part of our leadership group", said Wright, while talking to the media.
McCullum and Ross Taylor were the potential contenders to be Daniel Vettori’s successors but the latter was appointed as the new Black Caps captain. Being the incumbent vice captain could be one realistic reason that gave Taylor an
edge over McCullum in the run to be the new skipper.

However, he was confident the seasoned wicketkeeper batsman has got the skills to stand in if Taylor is off the field.
"I hope that Brendon will come to terms with this and I still think he's got an important part to play in the leadership of this team”, said the New Zealand coach. “If he wants to do the job (as vice-captain)], if http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LRPL-Taylor-c1849 is off
