http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 Cricket, on Thursday, announced its separate Test, ODI and T20 squads for next month’s tour of West Indies.
Uncapped South Africa-born left-arm medium pacer, Neil Wagner earned selectors' nod after an impressive domestic season with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tarun-Nethula-c2647.
"Neil has been an extremely good performer in the (domestic first class) Plunket Shield for a number of seasons and deserves his opportunity," said the NZC selection manager.
Neil Wagner, the rookie Transvaal fast bowler, was the leading wicket-taker in the recently concluded Plunket Shield tournament with 46 scalps in 10 matches at an average of 26.32. His inclusion will increase competition for places in the fast bowling department.
The selectors have retained all the 11 players in the Test squad who featured in New Zealand’s most recent Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kruger-van-Wyk-c1811 has
been included in the 15-member Test squad as the backup gloveman. The duo will also serve as reserve batsmen for the short two-Test series.
Kiwis Vice captain and the former wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum, however, has been rested for the One-Day leg of the tour and will be available for the two Test series only, at the end of the itinerary.
The NZC Selection manager Kim Littlejohn said that the opening batsman, who is currently playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing season five of the Indian Premier League, has played a lot of cricket in recent seasons and needs a rest.
"We asked Brendon McCullum to take a break during the short-form component of the tour," Littlejohn said. "The team is about to embark on a heavy program of international cricket and we will need to sensibly manage the workload of our players," he added

The two Test will be played in Antigua and Jamaica in late July and early August.
