New Zealand’s talented shuttler Dhanny Oud, who is playing from Auckland II, lived up to the expectations as he played with tremendous precision and overpowered Leck Tham of North Harbour II at the New Zealand Division 2 Slazenger Cup 2012 on Friday, August
10, in New Zealand.
The impressive Dhanny employed all of his skills on court to tackle the aggression of his rival and remained successful in beating his talented opponent with a reasonable margin on the score board.
The in-form Dhanny played to his maximum potential throughout the battle and lived up to the expectations as he ended up the match in straight games without showing any sign of confusion.
On the other hand, Leck also played at his best speed and showed his tremendous craft while remaining in complete control of rallies. He played at his best and but remained unfortunate in the ending points of both games as he lost his focus and the match
slipped away from his hands.
In the first game, both players made a good use of their incredible skills on court as they played with tremendous aggression and also kept a firm control over the pace of rallies.
The score also progressed closely as both shuttlers remained toe-to-toe until the one-minute break in the first game.
After the mid-game interval, the score again remained close as both players did not let the pace of rallies down and also were quite focused in the game.
The score reached at the breath-taking stage of 21-21 when Dhanny injected more power into his strokes and also increased his speed in all area which helped him to end up the game with a tight margin of 23-21.
The opening half of second set was also interesting when both shuttlers again remained close on score board until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Dhanny showed aggression by taking the bird early and pushed his rival on back foot. He was impressive in his shot selection which assisted him to end up the second set with a convincing 21-17 score on the board.
The spirited Dhanny knocked out his rival in straight games with a reasonable margin of 23-21 and 21-17.
