New Zealand Division 2 Slazenger Cup 2012: Jo Seddon beats Ashleigh Karl in Women’s Singles fight
New Zealand’s Jo Seddon, who is playing from Canterbury, displayed an amazing show of quality badminton as she overpowered Ashleigh Karl of Big Brand Leisure WTK in Women’s Singles fight at New Zealand Division 2 Slazenger Cup 2012 on Friday, August 10, at Hamilton, New Zealand.
Seddon has been grabbing the attention of the crowd by showing her elevated skills on court in all of her battle and continued her winning run against Ashleigh by beating her in a tight fashion.
The in-form Seddon had to work to her maximum potential while contesting against Ashleigh and she remained successful in ending up the hard-fought battle in straight games with a narrow margin on the score board.
The talented Ashleigh, on the other hand, also showed her superb skills by playing tremendous badminton. She did not let her rival to build lead in the whole match but remained unlucky in the ending points of both games and lost the fight with a respectable margin.
Right from the initial stage of opening game, both shuttlers showed their hard-to-learn skills by playing to their maximum speed.
They were just incredible in their execution of shots and remained neck-to-neck until the mid-game interval.
After the one-minute break, Ashleigh tried to take lead by gearing up her speed but failed to shake the confidence of her rival who was playing positive and aggressive badminton.
The score reached at 20-20 when Seddon showed her brilliance as she executed powerful shots in right areas and bagged the game with a dramatic 22-20 score on the board.
In the following set, both shuttlers again locked horns and played at their best speed but none of them could establish a comfortable gap until the mid-game break.
After the one-minute interval, Seddon started to control the affairs by increasing her speed in rear-court area. She was equally impressive in executing net shots and managed a small lead at the ending phase.
The impressive Seddon played with wonderful speed in the ending points of second game and took it with a tight margin of 21-19.
Seddon emerged as victorious in this Women’s Singles clash in two sets by putting up a narrow 22-20 and 21-19 score on the board.
