New Zealand Vs. Australia?

Whats your opinion on the rivalry between the two countries? What do you think of each one in comparison with the other?

New Zealand is slower and more like suburbia in Australia. The landscape is more vast and open due to the lack of big over powering cities.

Generally New Zealand and Australia are very similar though NZ is slightly behind the times, i.e they receive our fashion about a month behind us, nothing overly drastic though.

My personal opinion is that Australia offers more opportunity, though NZ is lovely for a visit.

Our rivalry is sport, cricket, union, league.

only rivalry is in sport....crciket, rugby ect.......there is no hatred between the two countries....only in the sporting arena!

Agree with cinders, I am off to Oz next week as best man for an Aussie friend who I meet travelling, he was the same for me a few years ago and we still give each other a ribbing bit under it all we are great friends.

Ooooh and there is no doubt, we are better

Im a kiwi but I have family in Aussie. Gotta say that New Zealands best :] but its all light-hearted. Its not like we go round Aussie Bashing or anything. I quite like Australia. And I agree with the first person. It usually just comes up in sport but if its one of us against anywhere else we'll usually support each other. Saying that, there's a quote which says "New Zealands support two teams: Themselves, and anyone playing Australia"

This one is hard for me, I'm a Kiwi and my mother's an Ocker.  I think our rivalry only comes to light in rugby and cricket etc, but when its one of us against the rest of the world, the other usually shows support.
