Fresh from their T20 series win against the Kiwis, the England women team continued their winning streak in the first ODI against the host team at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln, where they won by 5 wickets, with 10 balls remaining.
The visitors won the toss and chose to field, on what was largely an overcast day, with the pitch wet due to rain.

after which she was caught and bowled by Laura http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Marshall-c90362, leaving the score at 48 for 2.

successful partnership of the English side (a 71-run stand), bringing the score to 123 after which Satterthwaite was caught out off Elwiss.

Brindle (21) and Gunn (2) brought the team to 234, with 10 balls to spare.
New Zealand’s bowling attack was one again led by Morna Nielsen (2-37), who was joined by skipper Suzie Bates (2-34). Candy also managed to claim a scalp, at the expense of 39 runs.
Laura Marsh, who contributed the crucial 44 off 42 balls in the death overs, was awarded Player of the Match.
The 2nd ODI of the series is scheduled to take place at the same venue, on March 3.
