Fielding has been the preferred option for the toss-winning teams throughout this series, and the England women continued the trend in the 5th and last T20I.
The Kiwi’s innings got off to a faltering start, as the brilliant http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suzannah-Wilson-Bates-c92079 (20), helped bring the score up to 25, before being caught out by Jenny Gunn to
hand Shrubsole her second scalp.

to Laura Marsh.
Liz Perry (21) was the last batter of note, remaining not out and bringing the total up to 109 for 6, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Katey-Jane-Martin-c70440 (6) came and went.
With the 110 target in sight, the English side began on a disappointing note as Rachel Cady took out skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sarah-Jane-Taylor-c88769 (24) shared the rebuilding role and brought
the total up to 50. However, the Kiwi’s found a way back after four wickets fell to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tamsin-Tilley-Beaumont-c92692 (0), leaving the tourists precariously placed at 61-5.
Yet, the visitors managed to keep their unbeaten run going as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jennifer-Louise-Gunn-c66846 (22) propelled the team to 110, with 7 balls remaining.
With average batting from both teams, it was the bowling performances which stood from both camps – Shrubsole from the visiting side, and Nielsen from the host outfit, remained the most prominent players.
Despite managing just one wicket in the series so far, the Kiwi pacer returned with impressive figures of 4 for 10 – albeit in losing cause.
However, her performance was overshadowed by her English counterpart, who has been the star player throughout the series, with a tally of 10 wickets from her 4 innings. Her bowling style has been characterized by impressive economy rates – evident through
impressive outings, starting from the match against NZ Emerging Players Women, where she took a five-wicket haul, going under 1-run per over.
In the series finale, the medium pacer was again at her immaculate best as her 2 early breakthroughs set the tone for a convincing victory – conceding just 7 in her 4 overs.
For her superior performances, Anya Shrubsole won the Player of the Match award, for the second time this series.
