The New Zealand Cricket on Friday announced home schedule for the 2011-12 summer which will see the Kiwis hosting Zimbabwe and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 for a Test series.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864, Hamilton, Napier and Dunedin have all been given a Test match to host, however, the earthquake hit Christchurch has been ruled out as the AMI stadium over there had been seriously damaged by the catastrophe.
"Unfortunately we have not been able to allocate any matches to AMI Stadium, in Christchurch," the chief executive of NZC, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Justin-Thomas-Caldwell-Vaughan-c69731 told the media reporters.
Cobham Oval of Whangarei will also host its first ever international match when New Zealand will be up against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 on February 6, 2012.
This will be the first time in 11 years that a Zimbabwe cricket team will be visiting New Zealand. The last time Zimbabwe had visited http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 was in 2001. Since then the New Zealand government imposed a ban on their sporting
tours in protest to human rights abuses by Robert Mugabe’s government.
Before playing Zimbabwe and South Africa at home, the Kiwis under Ross Taylor’s captaincy will visit Zimbabwe and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
Taylor, who was appointed as Kiwis skipper on 21 June, has urged his team to perform well in the upcoming series to move up on the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Test rankings table.
“We're eighth in the Test rankings,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915. “If we can be somewhere from fourth to sixth in 12 months I think that would be a realistic goal. That's something I think we can attain in the next 12 to 18 months,” he added further.
