After retiring from international cricket, the 37-year-old has still kept close ties with the New Zealand cricket board, which included him in a cricket committee in December 2010 (as a non-board member and further included http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Martin-David-Crowe-c74854 and Gerard Gillespie ), which was tasked to promote, develop and foster the sport in the region.
In August this year, Bond further expressed his desire to work closely with the national team after Wright announced that he will be leaving his post following the conclusion of the World T20. The Australian’s 13-month stint yielded limited results on the cricket field but the Black Caps still found a host of emerging fast bowlers, including http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Neil-Wagner-c79182.
Bond has already worked with the former two during his time with Central District, and is hoping to provide in depth knowledge on the art of fast bowling. "Playing for New Zealand was the highlight of my career from a professional point of view and I thought that once I finished I'd have something to offer," Bond said in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766. "The last couple of years have been about preparing myself to perhaps have the opportunity to take this role, and I'm just rapt that I got it.
"I'm pretty clear on what I want to do and it's just a matter of getting some buy-in from those guys. I think there's a respect there between myself and the players, I certainly won't go in with a dictator's point of view, and I think it's just working alongside those guys and getting the best out of them."
