However, according to national selection manager Kim Littlejohn, Brownlie’s inclusion in the squad will depend on his match fitness as the player is making a comeback in competitive cricket after overcoming an injury.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s vulnerability in their batting department was exposed in the second Test, where the South African bowlers wrecked havoc on the hosts and prevented the batsmen from scoring a huge total in either innings.
