New Zealand cricketer, Daniel Vettori, is optimistic about the chances of his side in the three match Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. However, the left-arm spinner admitted that the Black Caps have to be on top of their game to beat
the Proteas.
Success has kissed the feet of the South African team on their tour of New Zealand; the Proteas have already won the ODI and T20I series, and now have set their eyes on the Test series. Vettori believes that the Kiwis have what it
takes to beat South Africa, but to accomplish such a feat they need to stay focus, as any lapse will hurt them badly.
The cricketer who has earned the most Test caps for New Zealand said, “I think we probably can do it but we're going to have to be at the top of our game to have a chance. When you're coming up against one of the top teams in the world
that's the attitude you've got to take.”
Vettori referred to the Test series against Australia, in which the Black Caps bounced back after being down by one game. The spinner has urged his side to show the same kind of resilience against the South Africans, as there is nothing
to be intimated by.
He said, “It's similar to when we came up against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, who are one of the top teams, and we know that if we play well that we can beat them. If we get caught up in how good the South African team is then we'll be in trouble.”
The first of the three Test matches will be played at University Oval, Dunedin. The Kiwis haven’t played many matches at this ground but is has brought them joy whenever they have visited it. The Black Caps have emerged victorious
on two occasions out of the three matches that they have played here, while they have drawn one.
Vettori was positive that the surface at Dunedin will assist the hosts. He said, “It's been a wicket that New Zealand has enjoyed. So it's a ground that the guys enjoy playing at.”
