New Zealand in 50 years?

What do you think New Zealand will be like in 50 years. Still a peace loving country or a violent crime filled nation?

The way the crime rates are going up suggest this. It's pretty sad but I simply can't imagine New Zealand being like a 3rd world country.

What do you think?

  1. Yeah, you're right about the crime rates going up all the time, but I don't think it will or could ever get to the 3rd world country stage, why would anyone want to start a war with NZ? We've got nothing to give..!? But I still think it might get to an American-European stage where 'crime' is nothing new.

  2. No, New Zealand will always be peaceful :)

But in 50 years N.Z may not even be here anymore, with the way global warming is at the moment we will probably be at the bottom of the ocean.

    What do you think?

  3. like most countries it will increase, but not to such an extent as here in the UK. we have a soft social system here that is wide open to abuse and it is so easy to walk in here and there are easy pickings but in new zealand there isn't very much for them , your not going to see mass migration to new zealand for people to do agricultural work or shearing or going into the meat works or the big dairy companies, Auckland is very much like London, if i'm not mistaken 50% of the population live there, and a lot of them have no purpose, as some one answered the other week for every 40,000 who leave new zealand 40.000 come in, a lot of them with nothing to offer your country or to contribute to it,just like all the lovely people who come to the UK. every year and enrich our country with there fantastic culture like, prostitution drugs forced labour, and all the other c**p they have to offer us, I sincerely hope new zealand stays like it is , or was several years ago ,it's a bautiful place, the world needs to slow down a bit
