The New Zealand cricket team came under fire from the media after an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Pakistan cricket team. The team lost the match by ten wickets, after they managed to avoid a humiliating innings defeat.
After winning the Twenty20 series against Pakistan, the Kiwi team would have hoped to put up a better show in the Test matches as well, but that didn’t happen. The Pakistan cricket team had a very bad year in 2010, but the start to 2011 would have pleased
the fans and the players alike.
The media declared the defeat as, “The same old horror story” after the hosts were not able to survive more than three days. The media also highlighted the challenge being faced by John Wright, who was brought-in as the team’s coach after the disastrous

The Dominion Post criticised the team and stated, “There's almost no need to belittle them, because the second innings batting figures do that all on their own.”
The chief sports writer for the Herald, David Leggat described the defeat as “embarrassingly bad”, and also added that the team lacked judgement and gave wickets away easily. He said, “Some of the strokes were daft, others plain dumb. New Zealand offered
nothing. They simply rolled over.”
However it’s not just the media that has criticised the team. Some former cricketers and experts have also expressed their disappointment over the result of the first Test match at Hamilton.

The defeat has also been criticised by many due to the reason that Pakistan has not been able to perform well in the longest version of he game in the recent past. The team is in a rebuilding phase under new captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972.
The Pakistani batsmen have a tendency to struggle against the bounce and pace of the New Zealand wickets, but the home team was unable to exploit this weakness, and the visitors conquered the Kiwis with ease.
