New Zealand muscle Pakistan bowling as they post 185 runs on the board
New Zealand managed a very strong batting performance after the host team was put into bat by the Pakistani Captain. The conditions were a bit dicey in the start but the New Zealand team coped with the conditions very nicely.
The start was not ideal for New Zealand as Jesse Ryder got out on the very first ball of the innings. After the early loss though, Martin Guptill and James Franklin battled the Pakistani bowlers and scored a 91 run partnership. Guptill got out for 44 in
the 12th over. Franklin followed him and was out for 40 when the total was 94.
Pakistan seemed to have bounced back in the match but then Scott Styris took the charge and smashed 34 runs off just 14 balls to give the Kiwi's an edge. Styris got out in the 16th over when the total was 133 for four. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-McGlashan-c2178 followed
the footsteps of Styris and he also blazed his way to 26 off 10 balls. He got out in the 19th over when the total was 175. Ross Taylor remained not out for New Zealand scoring useful 30 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 started off well by taking the wicket of Ryder but after that it was all New Zealand. The bowlers were hammered to all parts of the ground and the main strikers Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal were hit for too many runs. Ajmal however, managed
to grab a couple of wickets in his last over to stop New Zealand from crossing 200 runs.
New Zealand scored 185 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Guptill top scored with 44 and he was well supported by Franklin, Styris, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 and McGlashan.
For Pakistan, Ajmal took three wickets however, he did give away 35 runs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 to score heavily off him. He took one wicket for 22 runs in his four overs.
Pakistan didn’t bat well in the last match but the team will have to come up with an exceptional performance to win this match. If Pakistan loses this match, the series will be won by New Zealand but they definitely have the fire power to chase down this
total.
