New Zealand performance in 2010 not impressive
The New Zealand cricket team did not have much to show in 2010 during which they lost most of the Test and One Day International matches, failing to come up to the expectations of their fans.
Meanwhile, their record in the World Cup tournaments is also not impressive. They have played 62 ODI matches in the previous World Cup tournaments, and could cruise into semi-finals of the 1975, 1979, 1992, 1999 and 2007 tournaments, but
could never play any final in the mega event.
The Kiwis had a strong chance to win the ICC World Cup 1992 when they reached the semi-final due to outstanding batting of Captain Martin Crowe, but all their hopes were shattered when they could not beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in the semi-final.
Their highest score in the World Cup matches was 365/5 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. Scott Styris was their best batsman who scored 499 runs in the
World Cup 2007, breaking the record of former captain Martin Crowe who had scored 456 in the World Cup 1992.
New Zealand’s best bowling was witnessed in the World Cup 2003 against Australia when the fast bowler Shane Bond took six wickets. Now expectations are high that Tim Southee would perform that well in the upcoming World Cup starting on
19 February.
Always considered ‘underdogs’ in the One Day International games, the Kiwis failed to perform well in the Subcontinent during 2010. They played matches against Bangladesh and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in 2010, but could win only one, because of their poor
strategy. The series played by the Kiwis in the year 2010 are explained briefly below:

http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 played the first series of the year against Bangladesh in February which they won 3-0.

They faced failure in three ODIs against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 Tigers crushed them in all the four matches.

Players like Martin Guptill, Ryder and Ross Taylor are the best in the lot. Taylor is the highest scorer for New Zealand in 2010 with 676 runs with a sturdy average of 37.55.
The Kiwis bowling improved in 2010; the all-rounder captain of the team took 21 wickets, followed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mills-c76321 and Southee with 19 and 15 wickets at an average of 26.57 and 38.13, respectively.

Woodcock, Ross http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915, and Kane Williamson.
