The former Kiwi captain had announced earlier this year that he will leave the job after the tour of Caribbean. Wright will be replaced by his countryman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
The Black Caps have had a disastrous tour of the Caribbean and United States of America so far, losing both the T20s of the tour, being thrashed in the One Day International (ODI) series by 1-4 and falling behind in the Test series (0-1) as well.
The New Zealand captain however, is hopeful of ending the tour on a good note by winning the last Test, through which, the visitors can also give a good send off to their mentor.
Taylor, 28, is all praise for the former opening batsman and expressed that Wright has done a commendable job with the national side, helping a number of young players to develop their game. The middle-order batsman claimed that the Kiwis are motivated to
give a tough time to the home side in the second Test, which starts today.
"John's been a good servant of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 cricket over the years, not only as a player but as a coach," Taylor said. "I've learnt a lot off him and he's had a lot to do with a lot of these youngsters. They'll be up for a big game and hopefully we can give
him a good send-off."
The pitch at Antigua (for the first Test) was criticised by different ranks for being heavily in favour of the batsmen, with both teams scoring more than six hundred runs each in the match.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 however, revealed that the track prepared for the second encounter is different and feels that the conditions in Jamaica will assist both spinners as well as the seam bowlers.
"It's going to be a pretty abrasive wicket and a lot harder and faster than the wicket we got in Antigua," the New Zealand captain added while talking about the second Test.
