New Zealand to name John Wright’s successor by end of July – Cricket News Update
David White, the chief executive of New Zealand Cricket, on Friday said that the board will announce its new head coach by the end of July this year.
The NZC chief executive, David White, met the board in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 on Friday to discuss the process and timeline for appointment of Black Caps’ next head coach.
"We want the best person for the job and will not limit our search for the right candidate,'' said White while speaking to the media reporters after meeting other NZC officials.
"We are aiming to have the new head coach in place by the end of July but will not be drawn into making self-imposed deadlines,'' he added further.
The New Zealand cricket CEO stated that the position for the head coach will be publically advertised in the coming week and candidates from all across the globe will be eligible to apply for it, adding that the best candidate, regardless of his nationality,
will be appointed.
Highlighting the key responsibilities of Kiwis' new head coach, White said, "The key responsibilities for the head coach will be to manage the support staff, prepare the team for international cricket and, along with the captain, be responsible for
performance of the team.”
The New Zealand head coach position has been set open after the incumbent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Geoffrey-Wright-c67883 confirmed that he would step down after the upcoming away series against West Indies, which will conclude in July. Wright’s contract is due to terminate at the end

Wright remained Kiwis' head coach for only 16 months, during which the side played nine Tests, winning three of them while an equal number was lost and drawn. The highlight of Wright’s tenure was New Zealand’s first Test win against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 down
under in 25 years.
A hectic international schedule is awaiting Kiwis which will see them visiting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 to participate in the World T20 Championship in September.
