  1. thanks, i found that funny too.

i actually really liked your uniform.

but, you've just highlighted once again why it's time Australia changed the flag.

  2. Hilarious! But a great illustration of why both countries should adopt new flags without that foreign flag in the corner. Perhaps just the Southern Cross on ours and a silver fern or kiwi on the NZ one.

  3. LOL as an aussie I find that pretty funny too ...

  4. While I agree that Australia needs to update its flag,  I disagree about the confusion between the New Zealand and Australian flags.   There are many European countries that have  even more similar kinds of flags than these two countries, particularly the countries that have 3 vertical blocks of colours and nothing much else.  France, Belgium, Ireland, Italy etc come to mind.

If anything the statement at the bottom of the photograph proves how woeful the US education system is that somebody could make such a basic mistake.   As similar as those two flags are, there are a couple of quite visible differences to separate the two.

    1.  The New Zealand flag has red stars in its southern cross, Australia's are all white.

    2.  The Australian flag has an extra star in the southern cross and has the commonwealth star below the union jack (each point of the commonweath star represents a state).

You would think they would know what Aboriginal dress looked like too.   Australia is a bit too hot to be wearing heavy fur coats to tribal ceremonies.   As funny as that link is, I think the journalists involved should be fired for lack of research.
