Question:

New Zealand vs Netherlands: which one is more liberal?

I'm writing an essay on liberal policies from major liberal countries around the world and I can't really decide or find out what country, between NZ and the Netherlands, is more liberal in their policies..... what does everyone think? What country is more run more liberally and why? It's too hard for me to choose!! >_<

  3. I lived in the Netherlands for 8 years and it is definitely the most liberal country in Europe (and probably the world).

    Drinking age is 16 (for light beer) 18 for hard liquor, weed although technically illegal is &quot;tolerated&quot; as long as you don&#039;t toke up too publicly.

    bars mostly open after 8pm and stay open until 2am, sometimes 4am at Carnaval time.

    New Zealand is pretty old fashioned in many ways and although a beautiful country is by no means &quot;liberal&quot; in it&#039;s government.

  4. Taken that NZ still doesn&#039;t have g*y marriage and the Dutch practically invented it: The Netherlands!
