The injury also forced the cricketer to miss the quarter-finals against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. The Kiwis gave the player time to recover, but when his recovery looked to loom, they asked the International Cricket Council to replace him with Andy McKay.
McKay, who plays for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864 Firebirds in domestic competition, has represented the Kiwis in two One Day Internationals. The left-arm fast bowler has taken four wickets at an average of 28.50.
The ICC’s Event Technical committee on Saturday approved McKay and conveyed his confirmation to New Zealand Cricket Board. The ICC said, “The ICC has confirmed the Event Technical Committee of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 has approved Andy McKay as a replacement
player for the injured Kyle Mills in the New Zealand squad for the tournament.”
Mills has not been a regular in the Kiwis playing XI before the tournament began, but has been playing regularly in the tournament before picking up the injury. The right-arm bowler was the 12th man in the match against South Africa.

Mills was fined 60 per cent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct relating to deliberate physical contact between players. The bowler was further fined 60 per cent of his match fee for violating ICC code 2.2.11 which relates to the spirit
of the game. So in total he was fined 120 per cent of his fee.
Apart from other player who was involved in the quarrel, is Kiwi Skipper Daniel Vettori. He was fined 50 per cent of his match fee and an additional 40 per cent for bringing the match into a heated discussion.
ICC match referee for the match Roshan Mahanama also fined South African player Du Plessis 50 per cent of his match fee.
Mahanama said, “Vettori and Mills continued to act inappropriately and contrary to the spirit of the game throughout, hence the second charges were laid against them. Mills has been fined 60 per cent of his match fee for an offence relating to inappropriate
and deliberate physical contact between player.”
Du Plessis and Vettori admitted their offences, while Mills pleaded not guilty. However, after hearing the match officials and watching the incident, match referee Mahanama found him guilty. The 32-year-old cricketer has 24 hours to appeal against the decision.
