New Zealand’s Paul Snow-Hansen and Saunders Jason retain lead of 470 class: 2012 Delta Lloyd Regatta
Weather condition on the Medemblik waters at the beginning of Day 3 proceedings were lower than expected. The lack of winds did postpone the races which were supposed to commence on time. The fleet had to wait for the race committee to start the racing a
bit late.
However, the wind conditions were not able to shatter the strengths of the 470 fleet and they set sail on the waters to complete the proceedings on time. The participants launched their boats after a while and completed the scheduled races to formulate the
current results.
According to the latest result board modified after the third day races, New Zealand’s 470 pair comprising of Paul Snow-Hansen and Saunders Jason placed themselves on the top podium position with nine points after sailing in seven races, which also included
a discard race.
Snow-Hansen and Jason were outstanding on the Medemblik waters and proved their class to the fleet and grabbed the leading spot.
During their regatta campaign, the Kiwi pair clinched three bullets along with three second finishes to compile nine points. Their lowest finish, a third in the sixth race, was discarded from the overall score according to the rules.
