New appliance bought in a

New appliance bought in a store in Ottawa (Linen'n Things Orleans) which is going under and will not take back purchases.My new Delhonghi Counter Top Convection Toaster Oven is emitting a very strong odor of burning rubber or plastic and smoke is seeping out the top of the appliance when I tried for the first time to toast bread according to the instructions in the book.Doesn't seem normal even if it's its first run.PLease advise
