Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown revealed he expected to be fully fit and available for Sunderland at the beginning of the new campaign. The 31-year-old former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international is currently recovering from a minor injury, but insisted he
would be fit to face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the first English Premier League fixture of the new season.
Brown said he hoped to feature for the Black Cats in their clash against Kilmarnock to better prepare himself for Liverpool. He said while speaking to reporters:
“I get a game in tomorrow it will be my first game and I am looking forward to it. The more games I play now the better I will become.”
Brown was certain a few more games would help him regain his form and help him return to top form once the new season kicked off against Liverpool. The central defender c*m right back continued:
“Yeah I should be. If I get in the next few games of pre-season I should be ready for the 13th and Liverpool.”
Meanwhile, another new arrival at the Stadium of Light this summer, Craig Gardner revealed he was prepared to work hard at his new club to make sure they did well in the Premier League. Gardner, like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Vaughan was signed from sides
who faced the drop at the end of last season.
The former Birmingham City midfielder was confident he would do well with the Black Cats, along with the other new arrivals. While at Birmingham, Gardner made 42 appearances in the English Premier League and scored 9 goals. He was left with no option but
to leave the club when they faced relegation to the Championship last season.
Gardner said in an interview:
“Our teams may have gone down but we're all Premier League players and that's where we belong.
That's why Sunderland have signed us - we all want to do well and not roll over and let teams walk all over us.
I'm sure the lads here have that never say die attitude and we will crack on this year.”
