New at work?

I like to work but i find it hard to find a job that requires me to just work and not have to socialize with the co-workers. Im not vary hip to fooling around when it comes to work. Don't get me wrong i want to make friends but, just not during work hours. How do i tell my co-workers i wish not to talk to them during work hours without sounding like an ***?

Just keep saying things like "look I am here to work not play games" and walk away.

And eventually all will get to know you and you'll fit in with others like you and the company clowns will stay within they're own. But it's a process. Do not worry about who will like you or who wont, that will take care of itself. It is about being true to yourself, you dont want to become a chameleon and try to fit in with everyone or you will lose your own identity over time. I am the same way at work and I know exactly what you are talking about.
