  1. Ok sorry about my answer I copied My answer from another question so It won't completly aply to you but here you go!

Oh and if she is three months old it shouldn't need a heating lamp, but shouldn't be cold. I hope this helps you a little. and also make sure it swims everyday and moniter !

I found a baby duck stuck between my shed last year! I ended up raising her and named her koko! But I had the time...So If you don't have the time I would call your local bird sanctuary and ask them what to do. But in the mean time while you have it get a big plastic bin, put those puppy pee pads down and stick a mirror in there and it will be happy! And for food go to your local feed store and get duck feed if you don't have a feed store and as long as your duck is not tramatised they it should it chopped up lettuce and bread. Give it a small (very small they can drown in a bowl and get cold) And if it is realll really small try to find a heating lamp if nota normal lamp will be fine but that is only if it is really small. Also If there are more ducks around try to see if you can find a mother duck with babies and drop it off there and see what happens. The mom will msot likely take the babie back because the babie will follow his siblings.

And as for your friend, well if you keep it a while the duck will get attached to him...my duck followed me everywhere! but if you don't want that to happen, call all the feed stores (or any place that would selll a baby duck) and ask if they have some and go there and buy one to keep it company and when they are big enough you can let them go on a lake (this is what i did because my little duck got lonly when i wasn't with it) so that should work out well.

I hope you find a place for your friends baby duck!

  2. Get her a little rubber maid container or take her to the bath tub with some water, it will like that, even when they don't have all there feathers they can still splash around and swin a bit, I had 2 mallards and they had a kiddy pool they just loved!! Ducks like to be with each other, so it is probably lonely and might be a good idea to get it a friend if you are planning on keeping her, feed her duckling food from the feed store and then change it to adult duck food when it's older, always have water available, they can't blink and need to put there heads under water to keep there eyes moist. Good luck with your ducky!!

  3. First of all your mallard isnt 3 months old if she still has down on her body, they lose that after 5 weeks. I just raised a mallard in my apartment for 2 months before giving him to my dads farm and I kept him with another duck in a rubbermaid container with newspaper and towels changed 2x a day and fresh water and food with baths 2x a day. They need another duck to lay next to or a heat lamp. Your sure its a mallard and not a rouen? They look very similar...

  4. No wonder she is chirping. She is cold and looking for her mom so she can get warm!

You need to get a small box, an old towel, and a heat lamp.

Put the towel at the bottom of the box, and turn the heat lamp on and turn it facing one corner of the box so she has one warm side, and one colder side.

Next, you NEED to get at least 2 more ducklings. Your duck can and most likely WILL die if it doesn't have companions. Ducks are flock animals, and need other ducks to stay happy.

Next, make a nice predatore proof pen, with a run, and a small dog house with hay in it.

    Put that under some trees.

But, dont put the duckling outside until it has lost most of its down ( around 80% of its down ) and has replaced that with nice feathers.

You need to go to your local feed store and get some Flock Raiser

This is what Flock Raiser looks like BTW

    And get two Feeders/Waterers.

    That look like this:

Dont let it play in the water unsupervised until it has its feathers.

Email me with any questions you have.

BTW, here is a site where you can probably get some ducklings
