We just brought him home six days ago. We went ahead and fed him F/T 1 pinky and 1 fuzzy. He wanted more but I was worried about over feeding. I was overcome with concern as I noticed folds in his skin and that his back bone was visible, so a couple of days later I fed him again, but this time it was one med f/t and a pnky. (They came with the snake) Now it's been four days and I swear, he looks thinner to me. His belly is pink, but his eyecaps haven't clouded over- should I feed him again? He appears to be hunting at night- trying to get out of enclosure, raising his head way up and tasting the air. He continues to be curious of his surroundings. He is rarely in a ball when held. He lets us pet his head. I'm crazy about him but I'm afraid he may be sick. No visible sign of mites. No p**p yet, but urates 3 times since homecoming. New to herps.

  1. Yes, you need to feed him. Feed him as much as he wants. Then do not feed him again for a week.

  2. When ball pythons are young they can be fed every week and usually have very good appetites. If he'll eat go ahead and feed him. Make sure he doesn't get dehydrated. Ball pythons are noctournal so they are active at night, my ball python ashlee does the same stuff as yours, always checking out the surroundings. Rarely do they get in a ball when held, they only do that when feeling threatned. Snakes don't p**p often

  3. Feed him 4 per feeding  then wait another week for next feed =]
