New boy rats... to play now or leave for a few days?

Hello fellow ratty lovers!

I have just got two absolutely gorgeous boys (am already the proud owner of 5 girls).

I am determined to bring them up in the best way possible so that they are really calm and bond closely with me.

They have been in their cage for about a day.

I was wondering whether I should start to handle them now or wait a day or two?

They are currently exploring their cage but are very nervous, I just can't wait until they are all cuddly and friendly!

Advice from experienced ratty owners would be greatly appreciated!

spend time with them but don't take them out of the cage, do things around them to get them curious about you!

You should leave them for a while to get used to their surroundings, then when you play they will get used to you and eventually love you. You sould like a very responsible owner well done.

wow what a lot of rats you are lucky be careful not to mix or you will hear the pitter patter of tiny feet well if they all got pregnet then just under well 50 if your lucky as rats can produce 8-9 adverage babies

i would wait another day before aactually handaling your rats but i wold proberally sit and talk to them and maybee offer some treats from oyur hands so they get used to the sound of your voice and your smell

as you have so many and are proberally reasonabbly experienced i'm sure you'll breeze through it good luck x and i hope this helps :)

Rats have a fear of new things, this is why they feel nervous so i suggest that you put your hand in the cage often so they can get used to your smell but they should probably stay in the cage for another day or 2 before you let them out to explore. :)

i think if you take it slow and let them come to you then you will be ok and dont make them do things that the dont want to like if they come up to your hands and you start to pick them up and they back down dont make them do it!
