Question:

New car speakers - distortion in the speakers - help?

Alright. bought 2 new pioneer A series speakers from walmart for 50 bucks to replace the ones in the front door. Anyways, i cut the adaptor off since Walmart didn't carry an adaptor harness and just soldered them up myself. they have a clean solder job and are taped up. Anyways, during songs for instance the bass will make a static noise in my speaker when the volume is high(about 30+) I would really like to eliminate this noise.

Other points -

Pioneer DEH-5000UB head unit (just put in about 2 months ago)

2 pioneer a series speakers front door

2 stock ford rear speakers

my truck is a 99' mazda b4000.

i appreciate all input.

  1. to be honest, those are junk speakers to start

but if you insist on keeping them, find out their RMS wattage and get a 4 channel amp  and 2 more speakers for the rear that match them.

    This will help eliminate distortion.

Also look into Dynamat sound deadening material

check the ground on your headunit.  Make sure you do not use the stock ground wire, but instead create your own grounding point away from things that can create noise!

any questions add me up and hit me up

i install sound systems for fun, and have put together full systems for well under 400 dollars!!! thats sub box 2 amps head unit 4 speakers wires etc!!!!

  2. Your radio is clipping power.  You should not have your radio up more than 3/4 power.  If you insist on having your radio that high tune to that level you will not be able to have as much bass with your radio over 3/4 power without it clipping

  3. your  mistake was when you bought your speakers from wal-mart you get what you payed for

  4. Sounds like symptoms of the speaker leads shorting.
