New cities in the UK?

Hi, i wanted to know what are the newest cities in england. Like cities that started after 1970´s and stuff. Thanx

Cities don't just start after the 1970's in a country that is more than a 1000 years old. Our Cities and towns have been around for Hundreds of years ...but don't worry, all our cities are modern, we do have the capability of modernising ourselves and building new buildings

Most of our major cities have a modern feel to them, yet still contain that distinct Britishness about them

what ever you think it's like in the UK, you must have some serious misconceptions, we are not living in the dark ages.

but i would say, because it got bombed by the IRA in the 1990's, and since then has gone under major regenration to rebuild itself. Manchester is probably the most Modern City in the UK.

in the UK a "city" is not a term for a large town ... there are specific places that are allowed to call themselves cities ... see

I think what you're asking is what new towns have started after 1970's ... the one that springs to my mind is Milton Keynes
