  1. Not looking forward to it, but this is one war that I would support.  I support our troops in Iraq, allthough I don't agree with the reason that we are there.  I think that when another country asks for our help, that we should help them i.e Georgia.

  2. not me.... bet you wont be siked when the bombs start bursting over on our soil......   its funny how some people who really have know idea what war really is like get all excited about potential wars when they have no clue of the real dangers a war with russia really means for the United States itself..... i just hope that we the people survive the destruction heading our way.

  3. why "new"? after Georgia-South Ossetia events its clear the cold war never ended ((((

OO, Visor, darling did you read my replies bout when russians were liberating army for last few hundred years, i hope? ....i did-same day u asked

  4. Cold war wasn't fought with bombs, at least not directly between US and USSR.

Besides, as far as I see it, it isn't up to western countries to choose, it's Russia's choice and politics forcing a new cold war.

Sure, if they get all they want without any objections from the west there will be no cold war, but I really doubt west needs that kind of Russia. There is no end to their expansionism for last 500 years.

I figure some people in western European countries really forgot what it was like to have Russian bear on their borders, now Russia seems to be far, on someone else's borders, someone else's problem. Except once they gobble up those countries they'll be back to the old borders and old headaches...

I'm not psyched about new CW, actually I agree with the post above, cold war never ended for Russian military and KGB.

It costs way too much and doesn't produce anything except economic problems. The sad truth is Cold War is much more profitable and desirable for Ex-KGB Putin and his government compared to western countries.

He needs it to justify inflated military spending, aggression against neighbors and more importantly to have some justification for crappy economic situation inside Russia and distract simple folk from real problems. That is how USSR used cold war, that is how Putin will use it.

The only hope is that first cold war finally broke USSR apart, which was twice as big as Russia with a lot more satellites. So, if the new one starts I really hope it'll being an end to commie rule of Russia.

Yeah, I know lots of people will say Russia isn't communist and Putin isn't communist, but given his biography, do you really believe he changed his mentality?

The guy was raised as a communist and served in the most notorious communist structure, KGB. Now he's a democrat somehow?

The same Putin who officially declared that Russia isn't ready for democracy...

2 Lucky - I've checked your post in that thread. Your answer was: "Reply to all your questions- Russia through the history always was liberating"..

How does that answer my question? Who and when did Russia liberate? Can you please list countries and dates?

Somehow I doubt Russian Empire ever qualified as liberator, but who knows, I might be wrong.

Oh, and please don't start about liberating Europe from n***s. USSR had a goal to defeat n**i Germany and they had to fight them till the end, which was good, no denying that. But let's not forget USSR installed marionette communist regimes in all countries they occupied during WW II. And every once in a while invaded them to protect socialist brothers.

Just like Russia installed marionettes in S.O. and Abkhazia in early 90s.
