I recently bought the following components to build a new computer:Case: Antec P182Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3LPSU: Corsair 520HXCPU: Intel E6850GPU: EVGA 8800GTS 512MB (G92)Hard Drive: WD Raptor X 150GBRam: Corsair 4GB PC2-6400 C4OS: Windows Vista Premium OEM 66I-00715Iassembled everything and upon power up, I encountered an earblasting continuous beep. After inspecting the card ,I realized I hadn't connectedpower to the video card (doh!) With power to the video card, the screeching beep wentaway and all the fans run (the 3 internal case fans, the CPU fan andthe graphics card fan), the DVD drive works and I can hear the harddrive spinning, BUT... no startup "beep" and no post/bios. I triedreseating the RAM in different combinations as well as reseating the video card but still nothing. I hired a specialist to diagnose my computer but he's had it for a week and I suspect he doesn't know how to fix it. He originally said the motherboard was shorted and after replacing it, he now says that the short has caused irreparable damage to other components (which doesn't sound right). I want a second opinion so I was hoping to get a recommendation from y'all on a reputable computer repair store around Palo Alto/Peninsula Bay Area.Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.
