  1. Legally you have to have a different Rx from your Doctor to get different lenses. It is that simple.

  2. if u are to use a different brand, the prescription may change, because it's true the strength and measurement of your eye hasn't changed but  the strength of one contact brand may not be the same for another.  For example, if your shoe size is 8 and u're used to using a certain  brand 8, a size 8 may be too big or too small in another shoe brand. Catch my drift? Be careful and check the doc.  Find out all  your brands options.

  3. I use 1800contacts.com to order my contacts. I have never had any trouble with them...great prices, fast shipping, and excellent customer service if you ever have a problem. No complaints with that site at all.

You will have to see your eye doctor if you are wanting to change contact lens brands. You would need to be fitted for whatever brand you are wanting to switch to, and the eye doctor would need to make sure that brand is suitable for you as well.

If you do try to order a brand other than what's on your prescription, 1800contacts.com or any other site will call your eye doctor to verify your scrip. Once they see that your scrip isn't written for the brand you are wanting to change to, they won't send the contacts out to you...this is done to protect the companies as well as you.

There are quite a few brands that have contacts for astigmatism, but what works well for one person may not work as well for another...everyone's eyes are different, so there isn't really a "best brand." It's all about your personal eyes.
